About this course

This course is aimed at a detailed consideration of emergency rescue equipment on board modern vessels, triggering devices of duty boats and rescue boats of free fall + deck equipment aboard modern vessels. In this part, we discuss in detail the principle of lowering and raising the rescue and duty boats. We consider the design features of the triggering devices for lowering and lifting the boats. We pay special attention to the consideration of hydraulic schemes for these devices with the consideration of the elements and principles of their operation. Thus, the issue of the principle of operation of the CounterBalance Valve, which is installed in the hydraulic system on the oil descent from under the piston of the hydraulic cylinder, is disclosed in the course. The options for the operation of the trigger devices using hydraulic accumulators, a manual hydraulic pump and using a hydraulic pump driven in rotation through an electric motor are considered. All points are considered using modern operating instructions, animated hydraulic systems and real filming from the ship. Having studied this course, you will figure out the operation of the inverting devices of emergency rescue equipment on board and get acquainted with the features of the design, operation and more deeply maintenance of deck equipment. In the second part of the course in the details, we consider the features of the device, operation and emergency control of deck cranes. This course will be interesting to both novice ship mechanics and those who have been working in the sea for several years and plans the transition from cadets/motorists to the fourth, third mechanics in the establishment of which, as a rule, is the maintenance of deck mechanisms and cranes.
